Double Masters: The best set...Almost

     Double Masters is the newest Magic the Gathering set releasing on August 7th. Each pack will contain two of everything you usually get. So two rares or mythics, two foils, all that good stuff. The cards included in Double Masters are like a dream come true. Cards that have been expensive in the past are being reprinted: Jace the Mind Sculptor, Mana Crypt, Force of Will, Karn Liberated, Blighsteel Colossus, Dark Confidant, Doubling Season, Mox Opal, Sword of Fire and Ice, Exploration, Cyclonic Rift, I could go on. It finally feels like players will be able to get these expensive cards that they couldn't afford in the past. Unfortunately, the price to get sealed product is way too high. One booster pack, just one single booster pack, costs fourteen dollars! That is one single booster pack, not a collector's edition, not a VIP pack - one regular pack costs fourteen dollars. New Challenger Decks

The new challenger decks were just announced! There will be four decks, each having sixty cards and a fifteen card sideboard. Each deck has a different theme, and the idea is that they will be standard playable right out of the box. The four new decks are: Allied Fires Final Adventure Cavalcade Charge Flash of Ferocity Allied Fires is a  Fires of Invention  deck with a heavy load of uncommon (and a few rare) planeswalkers. It's in the Jeskai colors, although I should note that the deck does include  Kenrith, the Returned King , which has abilities that not every color in the deck can use. Final Adventure is, like it's name, an adventure deck. It has a lot of adventure creatures, as well as synergies to go with them.  Edgewall Innkeeper  is there to provide some value and  Lucky Clover  can copy the adventure side of the creatures. New Secret Lair Drops

Secret lair, which is a recently new product for MTG, is going to be getting five new drops during the world championship. They will be revealed live on February fourteenth, and will be available for purchase until the sixteenth. So today I'm going to give a little more info about the new drops and also give a reminder to what secret lair is and how it works. Secret lair is actually a fairly new product. The idea was that on a certain day a secret lair product would drop, and after that day it would never be available again. The first drops came last December. There were seven drops, and each contained several alternate art versions of cards. The art wasn't like usual Magic art however, because the artists got a little more freedom to get creative. In January, another secret lair dropped, this time celebrating the year of the rat, with several rat cards all with unique art. This leads us to now. Unsanctioned

Unsanctioned, a combination of all the un sets and a few new cards, comes out near the end of the month. It will contain five thirty card decks that can be combined in many different ways. But what are un sets and is this a good product to buy? In August, 1998, Unglued was released. It was the first un set to come out and contained silver bordered cards that were not tournament playable. Because of this, cards could do much different things than regular Magic cards and more odd possibilities could be put into set design.  The next set was Unhinged releasing in November of 2004, expanding on Unglued. Unhinged contained 141 cards, where as Unglued only had 88. Unhinged also contained beautiful full art lands that were great additions to decks. Brewing Pioneer: Aetherworks Marvel

Hello, and welcome to the first part in a series of making pioneer decks! With so many options to talk about, I want to start with one of my personal favorites, Aetherworks Marvel .  So the way Aetherworks Marvel works is that you get a lot of energy in the early game and then use Aetherworks Marvel to look at the top six cards of your deck, if one of them is a big creature or amazing planeswalker, you are in luck and can play it for free. If it is not, then you can still play one of the cards for free, but you need to get more energy to use Aetherworks Marvel again. Keep getting more energy and using Aetherworks Marvel until you get a big creature to defeat your opponent with and win the game. Now I'm not talking about any huge creature, I'm talking about the biggest creatures, the Eldrazi Titans. Emrakul, Ulamog, and Kozilek. Now each one of these eldrazi has had two versions. Pioneer

Pioneer, the new MTG format, was just announced by Wizards of the Coast. It has there full tournament support, and they have announced future tournaments for the format. But what is Pioneer? Pioneer is a non-rotating format, and the card pool is from Return to Ravnica and up. So that means you will be able to play cards from the Theros block, Tarkir block, Kaladesh block, and many more. A lot have been comparing it to frontier, and expecting it to fail, but there is a difference. Frontier had a smaller card pool and not a lot support from Wizards of the Coast. Pioneer is a bigger card pool, support from Wizards of the Coast, and even has competitive tournaments coming up. Pioneer has so much possibility, looking at all the decks from past standards, it's hard to decide what deck to play! Before I go any further, I do want to say that there is a ban list, but it only includes the five fetch lands from Khans of Tarkir. Which is fine with me, but at the same time there is so many...

The Oathbreaker Format

Hello Everyone, today I'm talking about a new format called Oathbreaker! It's like a different version of Commander. You are allowed to use any cards in MTG's history (Although there is a ban list). However there are a few differences. Instead of using a legendary creature as your commander, you use a planeswalker. This sounds exciting because now people can use planeswalkers to lead there decks, which will hopefully be a fun metagame. And instead of a hundred card deck, you use a sixty card deck. To remind some people, this isn't brawl. Yes it has sixty card decks, but it is different because you can use cards from any set of Magic. Finally, there is one more card that is put in your command zone. The signature spell. Basically, you have a planeswalker as your commander, and a spell that is treated like a commander.
